About Us.....
The Beaver County Metal Detecting Club was founded in 2007 in Beaver County, Pennsylvania by its Charter Members. It was to provide an organization for those interested in the metal detecting hobby. The Club has grown to over 40 members as of January 2019. Membership is $20 per year or $25 for a family membership.
Monthly meetings are the first Thursday of each month at King's Family Restaurant near the Beaver Valley Mall. Members meet to plan Club events, exchange tips and advice, learn about new metal detecting products and gear, show their current finds, and just enjoy sharing stories with fellow members. Many members participate in the 'Show And Tell" which is a vote for their best coin, best jewelry, best whatever and oldest coin found since the last meeting. Guests are always welcome and many have become members.
There are various events throughout the year for members such as: a Spring Hunt, a Fall Hunt, Brown Bag Hunts, a Christmas Party, and whatever else members or Club Officers can come up throughout the year to enjoy.
The Spring Hunt and Fall Hunt are the big Club events. Check out the pictures in the 'Club Hunts/Events' tab. 2500+ coins and prize tokens are buried very shallow in a flagged off field for members to find. Different types of prize tokens are dug up which can be traded for silver coins or prizes which were generously donated by members, the manufacturers, and other various Club hunt sponsors. Sponsor logos can be found on our Home page. They have always been more than generous in their donations, and it is appreciated. Click their logo and check them out.
The Club has been contacted a few times to find lost rings, jewelry, family heirlooms, property markers, and personal property. It has also done some metal detecting presentations and demonstrations at State Parks and other locations. It is always a great way for members to show their skills and to help someone out. The Club has also been contacted on occasion by law enforcement to assist in evidence recovery, and it is a great honor servicing those requests. The BCDC takes pride in its community service and never charged a fee for those requests.
Joining the Beaver County Detecting Club is a nice way to meet people who share a passion for the metal detecting hobby. It's a great place for the casual beginner or veteran metal detectorist. There is nothing like meeting a new hunt partner to hit an old site with, get advise or opinions on detectors or equipment, or exchange knowledge of a new site to hunt for that buried treasure.
