BCDC MEETING MINUTES  12-06-07

Meeting commenced at 7pm with light taps of Club President Red Craft using his new XL gavel.

Members present. Bob Hromika, Red Craft, Gary Waddell and new member Abby Waddell. No guests were present.

Previous meetings minuets were read and accepted. Decision agreed upon to only have the previous months meeting minutes on the web page , not all months meetings minutes.

Decision was agreed upon that there will be only four Charter Members.

Treasurer's report by Gary Waddell : $35.00 in cash box.
Members dues paid: Bob Hromika $10.00 , Red Craft $10.00 and Gary Waddell

Web Site: www.beavercountydetectingclub.com , up and running 12-05-07 per Boobie. Only Harry will have his phone number on the web at this time. Email addy's of Club Officer's will be on web page.

Club Logo reviewed: Colors were adopted for the logo of the design agreed upon at previous meeting. Black, for the background, standing for the dirt we dig. Gold, for the County shape on the background, standing for the treasures we seek. White lettering to be easily readable on the background.
Some more tweaking of the logo to be done by Gary Waddell logo designer.
1.Remove upper casement over the top on the background that has the Club Initials in it.
2.Put club initials inside County field. Black lettering.
3.Membership to submit ideas for Club Motto in the County field at next meeting.
   Some ideas were given at this meeting but not approved yet. The ideas were,
        A.) All is not lost, We can find it.  (currently on logo) by Gary
        B.) If you lost it , We will help find it.   by Boobie
        C.) Lost it , We can help. by Red
        D.) We dig it.  formerly submitted by Gary
        E.) We do it in the dirt       "               "
        F.) We get down and dirty  "               "
Suggestion made by Gary for a separate embroidery patch to replace the upper casement removed by the membership. This patch to have "Charter Member" and to be given only to them, if not cost prohibitive to have such made.
Gary to contact friend who has an embroidery machine to find out cost of patches. This can be done once design is finalized.
Would we want Membership Number on our patches???

Membership Card design ideas: to be submitted at next meeting, by Boobie
Thoughts were fielded about business cards with logo, for those who want them.
We need to discuss more at next meeting. We liked Boobie's business card.
Boobie to design??

List of meeting dates for yr 2008. 1st Thursday of each month, for 12 months. Needed for web page and announcements for new membership applicants.

Tentative date for first brown bag hunt: second Saturday in March 2008.
3 ideas were submitted for location. Red-- a place in West Virginia. Gary-- old foundation in woods with cellar hole of log cabin near by. Boobie-- has another place to go also.

Next meeting: Thursday, January 3rd @ 7pm at Bistro Restaurant New Brighton Pa.
