THE PREZ SEZ

It’s hard to believe but here we are, about to wrap up the month of June already.  Where does the time go and why does it seem to go so much faster during the spring and summer months.  There are so many more hours of daylight, thus more time for activities; one would think it would slow down a bit.  I guess the old adage holds true that “Time flies when you’re having fun”.

Speaking of fun; I’d like to take this opportunity to say thanks to everyone who helped to make our Seeded Spring Hunt such a huge success.  My thanks to all who donated the great prizes and to those who helped ready the site and for the food and drinks that were provided to feed the hunter/gatherers.  A very special “thank you” to Gary’s Brother, Ted and his lovely wife Mary, who so generously gave us the use of their property plus a shelter and electricity.  The only way this hunt could have possibly been any better would have been to have had all the members of our fine Club be able to attend.  Again, my thanks to each of you.

At our next meeting, July 2nd, (that’s next Thursday) we need to discuss plans for a  Seeded Hunt in the Fall, plus we need to come up with some places for “Brown Bag Hunts” for the months following July.  So, put on your thinking caps and make it out to our next meeting.  If at all possible, come a bit early and order a bite to eat to help support the Penn Bistro who generously affords us a meeting place each month.

Hope to see everyone there and don’t forget the BB Hunt at Bakers July 11th at 9:00AM.

Take the best of care, happy hunting and May God Bless.

For those who that could not attend

Today I attended Boobies Memorial Service at the Sylvania Hills Memorial Park Cemetery.
I have been to several of these and I must say I was impressed with his. It was in a chapel at the cemetery, upon walking into the reception area there was a very large T.V showing a collection of slides of Boobies life from a very small little boy to the present. There were several of Boobie which I believe Chuck took.

At 11:00am we were ushered into the chapel. There was a large photo of Boobie surrounded by candles and flowers on the altar; this was a very beautiful arrangement. The service started with prayers that included public responses. Than the minister read from the Scriptures, some more prayers and the service was opened to those who wished to say anything about their association with Boobie.

Boobies two sons Rob & Nate spoke of their experiences growing up with their Dad. These boys are really proud of their father. There was a poem read which was written by his Grand daughter.  Another man spoke about Boobie and he metal detecting. I learned that Boobie had many friends and if you were his friend you were a special person to him.  I am happy to know I was one of many of his friends.

A few more prayers, the Lords Prayer, Benediction and the services were over. There was a large family reception line followed by a luncheon at Boobies church.

The sky was blue, the clouds looked like pure white powder puffs and the sun was bright. Almost as if

God and Boobie had ordered it for us.

Good Bye My Friend
We shall not forget you

A much welcomed comment about the Spring Hunt

The spring seeded hunt was a great success and much credit needs to be given to the officers and the people that helped in accomplishing a great club hunt. A lot of behind the scene activity and time was donated to make this happen. The hunt field and property was an excellent area to have the event.  My club hunt experience goes back 20 plus years and the many hunts I have attended attests to this as one of the best. Certainly the weather accommodated us, the food was great, the hunt field was tip top and the targets were perfect.

Club members were very courteous and gave each other plenty of room to seek and find the many targets on the field. Our members make up a very diverse and accomplished group. Every time I looked up some one was 'Xing" and locating a target. All of the finds and tokens were first class and included a great selection for everyone. It is unfortunate several members could not be there, they were missed, and we know that 'they' certainly would have added to the fun.

BCDC has the right qualities, good people and I am looking forward to future meetings, more outings and again thanks for a terrific club hunt.

The Butler Treasure Hunters Club placed the above tag on the hunter’s chest and on their detectors. This was their way of honoring the life of
